The inspiration for this painting came from Bartolomeo Cavarozzi’s Baroque work The Coronation of the Virgin. I began wondering what this motif might look like today. In my painting, the crown is no longer a reward reserved for a single “chosen one”, but a symbol of the recognition women give to one another. The work explores the idea of community, one in which there is no need to compete for a place. I believe that when one woman shines, her light can inspire and encourage others too. This is also why I chose to call the painting Culture.
We often feel that recognition is something we have to fight for. I believe the opposite. Celebrating one woman’s success does not diminish anyone else’s. Instead, it creates a space in which every one of us has the opportunity to grow. That is why the crown in my painting does not divide, but connects. True strength does not come from standing above others, but from our ability to lift one another up.

COLLECTION
How Old Are You? is my first limited-edition print collection, created to mark my 33rd birthday. For a long time, there has been an unspoken rule that women should avoid saying their age out loud, as though a number could somehow diminish their value or strength. I chose to challenge that idea and turn the number 33 into a symbol of a new chapter in my artistic practice. The collection features five motifs, each released in a limited edition of just 33 prints. It is a celebration of femininity at every age and a reminder that age does not define a woman. It is simply one of the many layers that make up her unique story.
